⚠️ Met Office have issued a yellow weather warning for #StormBert with predicted high winds and potentially heavy rain being forecast for this weekend.
Therefore, Romsey Town Council have made the difficult decision to cancel the Romsey Lights Switch On event on Saturday 23rd November.

We understand that this is disappointing but with heavy gusts predicted to be up to 50mph we are unable to allow the event to go ahead. Our Christmas Lights will be turned on over the weekend for you all to enjoy when you are next in the Town.

🎄☃️ Don’t dismay as we have plenty more events in Romsey to look forward to, including our new Christmas Market event A Taste of Christmas Markets coming up on Saturday 7th December from 10am – 6pm. So come and ‘shop till you drop’ on #smallbusinesssaturday2024 with a partnership of all the Romsey Markets and events wrapped up in one!

Romsey & District Chamber of Commerce and Industry presents Saving Santa on Friday 13th December from 5pm, Romsey Carnival’s Santa Run is on Sunday 22nd December and Rotary in Romsey’s Carols in the Market Place is Monday 23rd December from 7pm. The annual Romsey Tractor Run this year is Sunday 29th December from 2pm.

Fancy joining us for an enjoyable evening out, all to raise some funds for a good cause?

We've lost count of how many quiz nights we've run over the years for Scouting but people keep asking when the next one is, so we can only assume you enjoy them!

Full details on the flyer below - please drop us a line by Sunday 20th October if you're planning to come so we can buy enough food for supper!

We hope you can join us 🤞

Have you heard about Squirrel Scouts?
They are our newest and youngest Section - and Squirrel Dreys are popping up all across the Romsey area!

Why not think about being an adult volunteer with this new Section? It's a great time to nurture and support these 4 to 6 year olds and you'll probably get to share a lot of firsts with them: first campfire? first meal they've cooked themselves? first night away from home?

We know that you'll find the experience as rewarding as they do 😍

Are you an organised person?
Are you happy to lead meetings?
Why not volunteer with us? We're looking for a new Chair of Trustees and you sound like just the person we want!

You don't have to have been a Scout, it's more important that you are willing to learn the administrative ropes (than the knotted ones!).

Our current Chair is still in post and will be until next June so you'll have plenty of time for a good handover - and we have a great group of Trustees so there will be lots of friendly support even then.

Read more about the role here:

Or get in touch for a no-obligation chat.

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
