Have you always wanted to volunteer for a good cause, but see yourself more behind the scenes than delivering activities for young people?

Do you have a background in finance, like working with money, or find joy in a good spreadsheet perhaps?

We are looking for members of our finance team, to help with the running of the District's accounts and financial transactions. If this may interest you, or you know of someone it may inspire, please get in touch with us - follow the link below or email dlv@romseyscouts.org to find out more.

Romsey are lucky to have had a significant number of our young people selected to be part of the UK Contingent attending the World Scout Jamboree in Poland during 2027. All of them will be undertaking fundraising activities between now and them, and we will be helping to publicise as best as we can.

Samuel, James, Isaac, Joseph and Bea will be holding a fundraising concert to help raise money for their Jamboree journey.

All of thes scouts are fantastic musicians and they perform with Mountbatten School's Saxy Brass which is a fun energetic band playing jazz, pop and brass pieces.

Part of the recovery from a successful camp is in the drying and packing away of kit, being a fairly well established programme ritual the evening after the weekend before. Tonight was no different for the Scouts at 15th Romsey (North Baddesley), so when better for our DLV to gatecrash and catch yet another leader unawares!

Tim Bannister was the lucky recipient tonight, not only receiving his 10 year long service award, but also the Award for Merit in recognition of his dedicated service to Scouting in Romsey and beyond. He's not just been a volunteer with the Scouts in North Baddesley, but also maintaining links with 1st Cuddington (Warspite) Sea Scouts, who have welcomed our young people on water sports days on the River Thames. That's not forgetting his links with the Rona Sailing Project that had his Scouts sailing on the open sea, and overseeing activities across Romsey in general.

Truly a remarkable volunteer, who will be super embarrassed to read this, but every bit of it is well deserved. This is from all of us Tim, everywhere you go!

Having managed to surprise a fair few volunteers with Good Service awards over the past few months it was time for James, our Lead Volunteer, to get a shock of his own this weekend. At the end of the County Conference at Ferny Crofts, Paul Bell (Hampshire's Lead Volunteer) presented him with his Silver Acorn in recognition of almost 25 years of exceptional service to Scouting.

It's not very often he's at a loss for words but this probably was one of those times! With thanks to the County team for the photos.
