Dr Peter Centre

Dr Peter Centre

The Dr Peter Centre (DPC) is the fantastic new home for Romsey District Scouts and 1st Romsey Scout Group, replacing the original timber framed building which was the ‘scout hut’ for many generations of scouts and cubs. It is located near the Romsey Fire Station in Alma Road and was completed in Autumn 2011 after an amazing effort by a number of dedicated individuals to take the new building from conception to completion in under five years. Romsey Scouts offer their heartfelt thanks to the many individuals and organisations in the area who helped to make this wonderful building possible.

If you are interested in why the Dr Peter Centre is so named, click here.

Although the DPC is primarily the home of Romsey Scouts, it’s facilities are available for hire at times when they are not being used by the scouts. So, whether you are looking for a meeting venue or a great place for an event or conference, the Dr Peter Centre might be just the place you are looking for.

  • The Main Hall (left photo, above) can seat 120 people conference style or offers a 13 x 10m clear space for exercise classes, exhibitions or similar.
  • Jenny’s Room (centre photo) is a smart meeting room that will seat up to 14 boardroom style or 36 conference style. Chairs and tables can packed away or rearranged as required.
  • The Group Room (right photo), off the Main Hall, can seat 10 boardroom style and works well as a ‘break-out’ space from the Main Hall.

All three rooms can be hired separately or together. Each has kitchen/kitchenette facilities, projector screens and wi-fi access.

Charges start from only £30 for a minimum two hour hire!

Regular bookers or one-off events all welcomed.

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
