Notice of AGM 2025

Romsey Scouts will hold their Annual General Meeting (AGM) this year on Thursday 19th June.  The meeting will review the exciting activities which took place in 2024, present financial reports and elect our Trustees for the coming years.  We hope to also have a presentation from an Explorer Scout who took part in an international trip last year.  The meeting will take at the Dr Peter Centre from 8pm. Visitors are welcome to attend but are asked to notify the District Chair by email of their intention so that papers can be sent in advance.

The charity are also looking for individuals willing to become Trustees.  Trustees in any charity act a bit like Governors at a school or Directors on a company board; they are there to oversee good governance and to be ‘critical friends’ for the individuals with responsibility for the practical running of the charity.  Being a Trustee is a voluntary role (although some expenses may be claimed) and meetings usually take place during the evenings, about 6 or 7 times per year.  No previous experience of Scouting is required.  For more details on what Scout charity Trustee Boards do and the role of the individual Trustees, this information from The Scout Association explains.  If anyone is interested in putting their name forward, would like more information or would like to nominate someone who they feel would be an effective Trustee, please email the District Chair.
