Darren’s ‘retirement’ as DC – we expect an announcement about the ‘succession’ imminently so we feel we can start planning for Darren’s leaving do safely now!
GSLs have been/will be issued with a ‘card’ for leaders to sign if they wish; this will then be collated into one. John Stevens, Sarah Beaman and myself are also collecting contributions for a leaving gift; if you won’t see one of us, feel free to either send cheques or drop in sealed envelopes to Photoflair in Romsey for Sarah to collect.
We are also collecting photos (electronically please!) to put into a scrapbook to commemorate his term in office; any worthy contributions to either Sarah or me please, with or without captions but an idea of when and where they were taken would be helpful!
Donations, photos and signatures need to be in by 1st April (no fooling!) and we are hoping to present them to Darren at tea after St George’s Day.
Finally, we are also hoping to do a hog roast for him – any excuse for a party! – hopefully in May but details to be confirmed.
